Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The dashboard provides pretty good clarity.""I found flexibility most valuable in the SAP Cloud Platform. It's a simple tool that's good even for first-time users.""The product is very stable.""The solution has a lot of great features.""The integration flows are the most valuable feature of this solution.""The mapping transformation allows us to connect our on-premise ECC to the cloud system.""The product captures data in real time.""Though I'm not a massive fan of the SAP Cloud Platform, it has good features, such as its integration with other SAP solutions. When integrating with SAP or even the SAP sister company SuccessFactors and other companies SAP has acquired, you also enjoy data features in the SAP Cloud Platform, such as role-based permissions and other characteristics you can import from SAP."

"Among the most important [features] are the BIC 6 Converter and the communication protocols, which have the newer security features for certificates and encryption.""It has enabled digital business processes. It's the connection between our ERP system and the rest of the company. We were able to automate processing invoices digitally like an inbound invoice and FastPay payments.""It's a very robust solution and it's very configurable. Before this product we would use an ESB-type of solution which required us to write code and go through a process. We can configure the SEEBURGER solution much more easily, instead of writing code... It can handle large files very well.""The solution is flexible when it comes to adding integrations. It is much easier to use than the other tools we have to move the files. Across the board, we can move files in a short amount of time compared to our other existing tools.""We rarely get hanged processes.""One valuable feature is the scalability. We have not had to add processing power or hardware since we installed it. Also, we are able to create and deploy maps to migrate from another EDI platform very quickly.""SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) also allowed us to connect EDI vendors at will.""What would have been a manual process of transmitting data items around between us and third-parties has been automated. SEEBURGER BIS handles the automation and mapping side of the communications. The automation, along with the efficiency around time and cost, has improved our organization. Around 20,000 messages a month have been automated. These typically would be financial/order transactions and confirmations in invoicing that have been automated."

Cons
"The product needs improvement for serverless native integrations. They should opt for serverless features as all the customers worldwide choose cloud-based products.""What I would like to see improved is the learning curve.""When I started looking at the client's IT architecture, I started by doing a study of their services, DVM, data volume, and management services. According to the results, they could be a lot better at this.""The addition of more industry use cases would be an improvement.""The current pricing model is credit-based. We would like to have more information about the usage of the existing applications.""I want to see better pricing from the SAP Cloud Platform in the future. I also want more security and scalability from it.""The tool's UI is not very intuitive for cloud integration, so it needs research to understand its options and how it may work.""Usability is a challenge most of the time and not being able to get all of the information."

More SAP Cloud Platform Cons →

"There are some aspects at the front, the actual queries that you use, that could be improved. They're all very minor to be honest.""They made improvements to the email error alerts that go out, for the EDI technical. Those typically go straight out to the partners. Those messages are significantly clearer and easy to read. The same messages in the front end are not nearly as clear. It's supposed to be the same error, but the message that goes out for EDI is really easy for anybody to read and understand, but you have to be really solution-savvy to understand the message in the system itself.""I would've liked, from day one, to learn how to do my own mapping. That would have saved a lot of time and effort if that had been brought forward earlier. It's there, I just didn't know about it. Also, some tidier, easier-to-use interfaces would help.""The initial set up was done by SEEBURGER consulting. It can be complex due to various factors, such as server settings, database settings, and security settings.""In the BIS, if I want to have some API functionalities, that is a separate tool. The integration between the API tool and the BIS is not that straightforward. If they were to combine these tools and give us one suite, that would be helpful. Today I have a lot of partners onboard. I have something like 50,000 partners doing API transactions. If I want to introduce a new tool for API management, I have to do a lot of workarounds. But if it were integrated well within the existing suite, it could be straightforward for me.""We don't have much access to the logs or what's happening. So we have to log a ticket with SEEBURGER. We only get a message that something has failed... we have to open a ticket with SEEBURGER for them to tell us exactly what the issue is... I would like us to be able to be more self-sufficient.""Java is very old technology and they should move away from it, to anything that's better.""Difficult in handling large amounts of data, like when the file has more than 100MB in size."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Licensing costs for this solution are based on the number of users and the bandwidth."
  • "SAP's pricing is usually high compared to the competition. But this is also justified because they hold their products and services to quite high standards."
  • "The pricing can be negotiated."
  • "The cost when it comes to monitoring can be difficult."
  • "SAP offers yearly, subscription-based, and pay-as-you-use licensing."
  • "Cost-wise, I'm unsure of how expensive the SAP Cloud Platform is."
  • "SAP Cloud Platform costs $2 to $5 per hour, while I found other platforms way more affordable. You have to pay per use, though that's fine because that means the cost is flexible."
  • "The price of the solution depends on the package that is purchased. There are many packages to choose from. The packages are not overly expensive."
  • More SAP Cloud Platform Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The pricing seems to be competitive and the maintenance is standard."
  • "The pricing and licensing is very competitive."
  • "I did a review of other options out there, as we moved into the future and our SAP implementation, that this would be the right solution. It was very comparable to other manage services out there. Thus, there wasn't any clear-cut reason to go in another direction."
  • "The cost of the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) can be considered high. We have elected to have SEEBURGER consulting do the installation. Licensing could also be considered high. However, one would be hard pressed to find another product that does all that this one does."
  • "It has a very goofy pricing model in the sense that they have so many components and it's not very clear what components you require to do your work. When you ask for that, you learn that there's a surcharge for them. It's not that you buy a product and you can use all the compatibilities. They have all these different bits and pieces of it and you have to pay extra for all those things."
  • "Pricing, compared to the tool that we had earlier, is cheaper."
  • "The way they have their licensing structure set up, they have a lot of different modules. For us, we did not really know if we were licensed for certain things or not. We had to reach out to them multiple times to tell them that we were looking for this or that capability. We had to buy licenses for different things at different points in time, not knowing that we could have it bundled initially."
  • "The pricing is cheap. In fact, when I saw the pricing, I thought, "Really? What's the catch?" But the functionality that we get out of it, for the price we pay, is great value."
