Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The tool is easy to configure due to the existing pre-configured templates. It is easy to manage compared to legacy systems, which takes time. We can complete a site within 30 minutes. The tool's best feature is outdoor onboarding. You need to bring the box to the site with the internet. It is a simple plug-and-play. The solution offers a zero-touch procedure.""I really love the auto-tunnel creation feature.""The initial setup is very easy and not confusing.""At the moment, for us, it is a very good solution because it has all the features we need and it is not so expensive.""The most valuable feature of Silver Peak VX is the overall performance.""The most valuable features of Silver Peak VX are we can register our customers and they can receive free training and all the solutions features.""It is a scalable solution.""The most valuable feature is the support for asymmetric lines."

"Prisma supports all of the applications we're currently using.""When it comes to supporting large, complex, network architectures, it's a very simple architecture. The main component is the fabric. It's very easy to troubleshoot if there is an issue happening in the underlying network.""I like the link monitoring and analytics. These are the features that set Prisma apart from other products. Prisma works well with large, complex networks. One of my clients is a top bank in the United States, and Prisma has performed well for that customer.""Prisma SD-WAN is intuitive. We have a better idea of the different tools we can use and jump between the menus quickly.""It is flexible to use the internet connection via local breakouts without going to data centers.""I like that the integration with Palo Alto is easy.""The product's initial setup phase is straightforward.""The gateway is available on the cloud which allows you access from anywhere and still connects to your home gateway."

Cons
"They have to implement more security with it. The security, mainly their firewall functions, have to be included in the firewall features.""Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN Platform needs to improve integrations with other vendors.""The security can be improved, with the firewall for example, because they supply a basic one but not a UTM.""More technical sessions should be offered for deploying the solution.""If compared with Cisco, then Aruba's pricing is very aggressive.""The support, which is the direct support from Aruba, has shortcomings and needs to be improved.""I expect automation in the Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN Platform's next release.""The license features should improve in the solution. For example, when you purchase VMware, it starts at a low level that has some functionality. When you want to expand, the difference in the price is substantial. I purchased the lower functional version for $4,000, and now if I want to upgrade, they ask me for $80,000. This is a $76,000 difference, there's no logic, but this is VMware."

"Prisma could be a little cheaper.""The only con is the pricing because it's more premium.""Prisma SD-WAN should provide more flexibility and scalability on the hardware.""Prisma SD-WAN's technical support should be improved.""I would also like to see improvement in the product training for customers. Palo Alto has not initiated very much training but they have to do so because this is a new product. If you have experience in a legacy environment, and you are moving to Prisma SD-WAN, you don't have a training framework. That is one of the disadvantages.""I'd like to see them move more towards CASB.""Customer support is our biggest pain point. The quality of support has gone down a little since we initially deployed this product. I don't know if this is due to turnover at Palo Alto or a lack of training. It is now taking one or two days to get an initial response that says, "Hey, we've looked into this, can you pull this data for us?" In the past, we'd immediately get a response.""We are incorporating their zone-based firewalls. Prisma SD-WAN has limited documentation on how it manipulates traffic, e.g., how it is interacting with TCP and UDP. We recently had some traffic that was black holing. We literally had to do packet captures to see that the new zone-based firewall, which runs on top of Prisma SD-WAN, was causing issues."
