We performed a comparison between BMC TrueSight Operations Management and Cisco UCS Manager based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two IT Infrastructure Monitoring solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The major advantage of the product is estate management."
"The initial setup of BMC TrueSight Operations Management was easy."
"The most valuable features are the rich reports, high performance, and the look and feel of the WebEx webpage are very good."
"It is breadth. It covers so many different technologies which can roll up into a single console."
"The solution has a very good business event manager tool."
"I believe that the ease of use and UI is great"
"It has provided us with a single location to host all events to be viewed/monitored by our NOC. This has greatly helped them to streamline their processes."
"The ability of this platform to monitor the very diverse assets that we maintain around the world is its most valuable feature... We support a vast array of manufacturers' equipment, like HP, IBM, Cisco, Dell, EMC, Hitachi... We can do it all with [this] one [solution]."
"The management is one of the most valuable features of this solution."
"Ease of management is certainly the most valuable feature in this product."
"From a usability and functionality perspective, Cisco UCS Manager is very good."
"The hardware is very powerful and it is a stable solution."
"What I like most about Cisco UCS Manager is the ease of administration. It also allows the central management of maintenance, installation, and configuration activities."
"The flexibility and the ease in which the features can be expanded are the solution's most valuable aspects."
"When one server fails, we can attach the service profile to a new server, which saves a lot of time."
"The reporting functionality will give you any report you want."
"I would like to see a little more out-of-the-box event correlation and expanded AIOps type capabilities. Where you can train your artificial intelligence operations to be able to memorize an issue once you encounter one scenario, so if you encounter that same problem, you can get to the root cause very quickly."
"Cost is an issue with BMC TrueSight Operations Management."
"BMC's online documentation is often incorrect or incomplete."
"We were somewhat limited in TrueSight due to some of the RBAC controls not quite being what we wanted as far as delegating out administrative privileges for implementation. But because we were able to turn requests around pretty well, that burden wasn't too heavy."
"The sizing (which is difficult), the maintenance of it and the upgrade paths. This is a difficult area which is not easy to cover, as every client has a different approach of implementing the product."
"I think the ease of deployment needs to be looked at. It would be great if the deployment was faster and easier."
"The solution should improve predicting events and flaws in service. It also needs to improve integration with other systems."
"I would like them to improve the deep-dive details, tracing, and data agents in this product. We have EUEM, an end-user experience monitoring appliance. This one's quicker than the current one, and reporting side and filtration side are very bad. There are many details we look at and explain what we receive information in the current one, but we cannot have historical data like we do with EUEM. We cannot have a powerful point to look for specific traffic from a specific application and a specific browser. We don't have it in the new one. The current BMC also needs to add the thing that control versions."
"I want to be able to schedule multiple sequential updates in one go."
"The integration with other solutions could be better. I think Cisco can only integrate using Intersight. There is a second interface available as a SaaS platform, in the cloud, or on-premise. It's based on the Redfish protocol, which is standard for all the B-series servers in the market. We can integrate other solutions using API."
"Getting a CLI report on routers, switches, or any other CLI configuration device is difficult."
"Cisco UCS Manager should have a simplified deployment in the sense of not having multiple machines, demilitarized zones, and on-premise options."
"There is room for improvement in the software part of Cisco UCS Manager. It should be more user-friendly, especially when creating policies."
"I would like to see Cisco UCS optionally work as a hyper-converged system because right now, it only operates as a converged system."
"The pricing can be better."
"Cisco UCS Manager is not a scalable solution because once you have 160 blades, it cannot be expanded more."
