We performed a comparison between Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway and Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Secure Web Gateways (SWG) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The protection offered by the product is the most valuable feature. It detects vulnerabilities or traps on our users' phones and then prompts them to clean up their devices. Tools we used previously would only discover, which required us to gather information on the backend, so Lookout is a welcome upgrade."
"On the outside, the main differentiation is because Lookout ingest. They have ingested basically all of the apps for the last ten years and all the versions of all the apps, and we have that in a corporate database that allows us to do very large-scale machine learning and analysis on that data set. That's not something that any of the competitors really have the capability to do because they don't have access to the data set. A lot of the apps you can no longer get them because that version of the app is five or six years old, and it just doesn't exist anywhere anymore, except within our infrastructure. So, the ability to have that very rich dataset and learn from that dataset is a real differentiator."
"The solution is stable."
"The most valuable features are the antivirus as a whole, the anti-malware, and all of the protection features that scan our enterprise devices."
"Secure Web Gateway's most valuable features are firewall blocking and anti-malware scanning."
"There is some sandboxing available, which is quite useful."
"SWG allows me to track internet usage patterns, helping optimize bandwidth and understand how much time each employee spends online."
"It's stable and reliable."
"The most valuable feature for me in Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway is URL filtering, though all other features of the product are okay as well."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to allow or block sites by category."
"The most valuable feature of Forcepoint Web Security is creating the easy to install further policies that are deployed through the Forcepoint security manual at some stage. Just drag and drop and the policies are there."
"I have found the web content filtering and malware filter the most valuable."
"The security of the solution is perfect. It's very good at protecting us from attacks."
"I like that Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection is one hundred percent good, performance-wise."
"DHCP is a basic service, and they've been doing it for years, so it's mature and stable."
"The most valuable feature of Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection is its performance and visibility."
"The solution's user interface is very smooth compared to other products."
"Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection allows us to manage our overall addresses and IT in one location. Many companies are using this solution, it is very popular."
"It is a stable solution."
"Infoblox offers granularity and advanced DNS protection to mitigate DNS attacks. It's a very secure solution."
"Lookout was moving into the SSE space. And so their work on SecureWeb Gateway and SD-WAN is still sort of evolving."
"We just submitted an enhancement request reflecting the main area we want to see improvement in; the APIs. Currently, we're able to build dashboards, but it's somewhat backward because we use our MDM API to create them. Lookout should provide API to customers so we can query our data and use it in our cloud, and this is the only outstanding area for improvement with the product right now."
"From the analysis that we've done, they do seem to be maybe a step behind in trying to enter the market with a new solution. But when they do pick up, they do come out with some good products."
"The stability depends on the service from where you access it. Because sometimes, the place you are in, you have Gateway. You don't have Gateway. The gateway is overutilized. At the end, you need to go through their gateways. And this is the key point here. You have a tracking point. If it's not well orchestrated, and it scales up as you add more to the existing team, you will suffer"
"An area for improvement would be the classification of websites - it can take a long time for new websites to be classified."
"The performance issues in the product are an area of concern where improvements are required."
"There should be more hardware models available and the application control could improve."
"Stability needs some improvement, we have on occasion experienced some delay when it is synchronized."
"It's the support that's the problem because that's a different question from the product itself — it's the Achilles heel."
"We are using a V10000 G3 appliance. It is just a proxy. It is just HTTP, FTP, and HTTPS. Now, as our website has developed and we are using rich time-connectivity protocols, the proxy doesn't have the ability to work with these protocols. It would be nice if the UDP feature was there for it to filter UDP traffic. It needs firewall capabilities for UDP filtering. Its upgrades can be quite complex, and they don't always go as per the plan. Its reporting could be a bit more granular."
"Database synchronization failures"
"A feature we wish to see addressed in the next release of Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway involves its administration."
"The price could be reduced to improve the solution."
"Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection could be more user-friendly because you need knowledge if you want to use it. To handle the solution, you need to be a subject matter expert, so this is one area for improvement."
"The solution is expensive."
"They should release frequent updates for its on-premises version."
"They are not supporting high query logging. They have a very limited size for the syslog, so they are usually asking for external storage, external network, and integration in order to keep the syslog. If you are considering the high volume traffic of the carrier-grade, then the syslog will hold for around five to 10 minutes. This is not enough time and it is being rotated. This is the main issue and the main limitation that we face with them that they need to work on."
"There is a steep learning curve to be able to use Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection well."
"Infoblox lacks an extensive product portfolio."
"There needs to be more capabilities in order to configure the console itself instead of the user interface dashboard. Configuring the DNS or DHCP through the console instead of the GUI dashboard would be better."
