We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The web filtering feature and the intrusion protection system are the most valuable. It is a resilient appliance. I never had an issue with it in terms of any security breaches.""It's a firewall that secures our internal network. I have been using it since 2013, and I find that most of the features are advanced, and very user friendly.""The interface is very good.""The secure web gateway module and the application control module are valuable. HA operations are very easy.""Fortigate is very scalable to serve our customers' needs. We have scaled already from fifty to more than a hundred instances of Fortinet FortiGate. Around 20 staff are required for deployment and maintenance, mostly engineers.""The ability to set up remote systems is the most valuable feature.""It's an easy solution to set up.""Fortinet FortiGate's most valuable features are ease of use, flexibility, and most of the configuration we can be done using the GUI. When we compare Fortinet FortiGate with other solutions the firewall policy are very easy to understand."

"The tool's most valuable features are routing features and service quality.""The initial setup is pretty simple.""The product’s quality and performance are better than other vendors.""The technical support has been good.""It's basic functionality is probably the most valuable feature.""The product's scalability is good, and my company has 150 users.""It's a very powerful solution and the firewalls offer high performance""It's much faster to deploy a power source. If you need to deploy a firewall in the cloud of software, it's much easier and much faster than deploying the office firewall in a rush."

"Once you have Zscaler running you have access to configure it however you want.""It provides in-depth visibility into your network, ensuring that traffic flowing into your organization, be it from offices or individual users, is effectively filtered and secured through multiple layers of protection.""It helps a lot of companies to reduce their downtime. Also, It helps businesses in terms of being secured and protected from any threats.""I like the ease of deployment and its flexibility. We don't need to deal with license, quotes, procurement, delivery, and installation. Everything is software-based, and it's very easy to operate.""The product’s firewall and VPN package are fantastic compared to any other solution.""The visibility and log availability offered are highly valued for troubleshooting purposes, and this is a key factor driving customer interest in the firewall module.""The solution offers good sandboxing.""It is a stable solution."

Cons
"The solution can have more features in a single box that can be multi-applied to integrate everything.""We have an issue with hotel guest vouchers.""Web security solutions can be improved.""Fortinet FortiGate could improve by having more storage in the hardware for log data.""If they had better integration with security products, such as Cisco ISE or Rapid Threat Containment, then it would be an improvement.""At first glance, the interface for the device is very confusing.""There is one big configuration file with no separations for the unique VDOMs. Maybe they could separate individual VDOM configuration files with the root VDOM configuration file referencing the individual VDOM config files.""They should make the rule sets more understandable for the end user. When you're trying to explain to somebody how a computer network is secured, sometimes it's difficult for an end user or customer to understand. If there was a way to make the terminology more accessible to the end user, the set up could be easier. They should translate the technical jargon to an easily relatable and understandable conversation for the end user, the customer, that would be brilliant. Particularly in an environment where the IT structure is audited regularly, there's always pressure from the auditor to up the standards and up the security and you get your USCERT's that come out and there's a warning about this and the customer will want to lock out so much and when you apply it they run into issue where they can't search the internet or print to their remote office. Of course they can't print to your remote office, they just locked it up. They should make the language more understandable for the customer. If there's a product out there that made the jargon understandable to John Q. Public, I would buy that."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"The security feature must be improved.""The GUI interface needs improvement.""Right now, we are going through issues and problems where the product gets dropped with the connection or during the authentication initial phase. While it could be our problem, we would like to see more stability in this area.""In the next release, I would like to see improvements made to the GUI because it isn't very good.""The reporting can be improved.""The solution should consider improving its licensing policies.""Juniper vSRX is expensive.""I would like to see an activity sensor for malicious content or sensor for viruses and malware."

More Juniper vSRX Cons →

"Zscaler Cloud Firewall should have a better understanding of all dynamic cloud applications.""It would be nice to have some sort of a form factor, a physical form factor perhaps, or virtual machine that you could install on devices or on a cloud, and have some cloud computing.""Pricing is a challenge.""They do not provide a few components that are fundamental to differentiate the products""Its technical support services could be better.""The issue right now is probably that Zscaler is not providing web browser isolation. Another solution, Menlo, offers this. For one customer, we had to send traffic to Menlo to do the isolation for us. It was requested by the customer so that they could integrate any iframe. Zscaler needs to add this type of feature in their next release.""It would be better if they improved their policy, package visibility, and flexibility while we're creating rules for inspection. It could also be cheaper or more things could be included in the basic package. In the next release, I would like better coverage in the Asia Pacific region and better quality of service.""When it comes to customer support, there is room for improvement in Zscaler's service."
