Find out in this report how the two Cloud Monitoring Software solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."
"The ability to monitor any platform. We have Windows, Linux, AIX, and mainframe all being monitored with the same UIM infrastructure."
"I recall the initial setup being straightforward."
"It gives us visibility inside applications. It helps us to dig down and find the root cause of any issue within the network."
"Probe packages and probe deployment."
"It delivers our customers many metrics, so they may make decisions"
"Great out-of-the-box capability."
"The number of probes available. Out of the box, I believe about 200 probes are available. And, if there's a probe that is not available, you can write one. You can also go to the communities and suggest, and based on demand, CA will write one for you."
"It provides a comprehensive monitoring solution for our open systems."
"Being able to easily, and quickly obtain disc space statistics from servers and determine how much was free or used on various volumes."
"The set up was very easy. We didn't have any problems with the setup. The deployment took less than an hour."
"Monitoring capabilities are at a high level and it is easy to see utilization, access ports, and CPU memory in real time or through a lens for long-term visualization."
"The solution is extremely stable. We haven't had any issues in that regard. We haven't had issues with bugs, glitches, or crashes."
"It did a good job of the collection and then an investigation of the net flow of information for understanding the applications that were being used at certain locations."
"The ability to customize the views and dashboards is nice. SolarWinds also allows us to access the data via the API. That's probably the feature I liked the most."
"It is scalable."
"With just three modules, I can monitor server performance (whether it’s a VM, in the cloud, or an on-premises server."
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."
"The company has not kept pace with developments."
"It needs a little bit more functionality in the Admin Console."
"There should be wider coverage of storage infrastructure."
"They need to continue to advance the filter capabilities, and provide more input fields."
"We want to see more investment in the UI and the dashboard."
"The UIM has no features through goods and services yet. "
"Currently lacks a mobile application which would be helpful."
"I'm very happy with DX Unified Infrastructure Management, but what could be improved is its user interface because currently, it has many wide spaces. All the information you need is in DX Unified Infrastructure Management, and it's a reliable tool, and though that's more important than the gaps in the user interface being smaller or wider, those gaps still need some improvement. I know the team is working on it. My company had some backend problems with DX Unified Infrastructure Management in the past that have now been solved. The setup for the tool also needs improvement because it's complex. Another room for improvement in DX Unified Infrastructure Management is its technical support because it's sometimes not as knowledgeable or responsive. What I'm suggesting to be added to the tool is an open-standard ELK Elastic-based database where you can put in all data, so that you can use the data in other systems as well."
"SolarWinds NPM can be very slow at times. The database optimization can be done to improve the product performance."
"SolarWinds NPM could improve by adding the deepest inspection, performance networking, and IP address discovery."
"SolarWinds could offer more support and insights for a broader range of devices. Currently, it focuses on routers, switches, and some load balancers. However, it lacks an out-of-the-box dashboard for monitoring firewalls and some other modern network security devices. We have to customize it a lot."
"I would like to see some enhancement on the reporting side, such as making it a little bit easier to create reports or having a larger assortment of canned reports."
"Scalability is a bit tricky because it requires more gateways in order to get the performance you may need. It also requires a lot of licensing."
"Robustness of network element mapping tool could be better"
"Complex and overly detailed setup."
"It would be nice if SolarWinds could have a polling engine on the site that would collect the reporting and then manage everything itself."
