We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Automation Anywhere has lots of features, some of them are accuracy increases, time consumption reduced, scalability. Automation Anywhere does not require a strong knowledge of programming languages. The dashboard is user-friendly.""The general features, that we can automate a task that takes hours into minutes, are valuable.""Scheduling helps to generate and send reports without any delay.""The product is easy to use. It is a good tool for developers and business users.""The technical support is good. We have not had any issues.""The support team responds quickly.""Currently, everyone wants to experiment more and more with cloud offerings. They don't want to spend money on setting up their internal hardware infrastructure. Automation Anywhere is the only tool that provides a pure cloud to customers. That is one of the key features.""I love its reliability, ease of use, and the vast customer support that are always present to help us."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Pros →

"For machine learning, there is an in-built document and text classification feature in INTELLIBOT. That is unlike other RPA tools where one needs to procure a separate license. Besides this, the application is easy to use. One valuable feature is the drag-and-drop feature for AI and email intelligence. It is easier than using UiPath's IQ bot.""There's a helpful community available through the portal.""It is a stable product. We have been using it for 15 months now, and there have been no issues.""The return on investment is pretty good because the license cost is cheaper than other RPA tools in the market.""This solution is easy to use and requires little coding knowledge.""I have found the most valuable feature to be the straightforward visual editor, it has close to no code required. It allowed us to deploy the email monitoring in this couple of weeks.""The replay of the automation is an awesome feature."

Cons
"Intelligent automation is currently a buzz and I would love to see more innovation in this segment.""In the learning track, I was looking at the latest feature which is coming in A2019, which is very nice, because it is a web-based. So, we can do our development while sitting from anywhere. We don't need any type of installation. It's a web-based. Nowadays, everyone has the Internet.""We have a challenge in our front office automation where capturing details from a table within a table does not happen in the existing AA Enterprise client version 11.3.4. The AA team tries various methods like using an Excel spreadsheet to capture the tables.""I would like to see extensive OCR capabilities in the next release.""The Excel part needs improvement because we use it as a database. Right now, we are using UiPath for this feature, as that RPA tool allows us to sort, search, and filter in Excel databases.""The product needs improvements in dealing with remote servers and providing more APIs that will be used with other systems.""I have not seen bots working efficiently in the area of reporting.""We have a lot of use cases that depend on certain Java applets, and currently we're not able to leverage the Object Cloning that would speed up our automation designing. So we have to revert to more image recognition-type of designing, and it just takes a long time to get that bot built."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"The trigger actions need to be more robust.""A couple of times, we noticed that some bugs caused the bot to go in the wrong flow.""The first pain point of INTELLIBOT was with the development. Whenever the company developed any command, they published it directly onto their SQL site, and our current automation got auto-updated. The second pain point was with the action set. It could be stronger. Moreover, if I am doing UiPath automation, I have to do it with the Internal Report for now.""Currently, there are not many documents available on Google that explain each activity and how to use it or how to use the parameters and pass values.""Has limited functionality and uses extensive resources.""I would like to see the cognitive marketing platform improved.""The solution is heavily dependant on scripts, such as JavaScript or any other external script that needs to be a part of the system. If they want to grow, the scripting dependency should go away. They should have built-in libraries to pull in work from."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

  • "INTELLIBOT with the DPA costs approximately $1,500 USD."
  • "The solution requires a license and we purchased one annually. We were satisfied with the price."
  • "At the time, one license was $5,000 USD. If we needed to negotiate for more licenses, we could negotiate a bit on the price."
  • "It is quite cheap. In the year 2019, it was $1000 for a year."
