We performed a comparison between Sophos XG and Zscaler Cloud Firewall based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Firewalls solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The solution is very, very easy to use."
"The payment function for applications is good."
"The solution is extremely reliable."
"You can create multiple Virtual Domains (VDOMs), which are treated as separate firewall instances."
"The scalability is good in Fortinet FortiGate."
"The main reason why I purchased the particular unit was that it had good reviews and what other people were saying as far as its completeness and its leading capabilities in terms of endpoint security was very good."
"I like that they have given me a solution at a fair price."
"The stability and scalability of this solution are satisfactory. Its SD-WAN, VPN, and URL filtering features are very useful."
"They really work scalability into the solution at the outset."
"Some of the most valuable features are filtering and application control. The DDoS detection also shows traffic jamming and traffic shaping."
"It gives me a very good, stable connection in all tunnels."
"The most valuable features of Sophos XG are user-friendliness and it is highly secure."
"The performance of Sophos XG is generally good and it is stable."
"Reporting is the most valuable feature."
"The product has a console that is based in the cloud for all their products. In this console, they have email security, firewall security, endpoint security, et cetera. All of the products on offer in the console are very useful for us."
"The VPN access for users is also a great thing, especially nowadays when working from home."
"It helps a lot of companies to reduce their downtime. Also, It helps businesses in terms of being secured and protected from any threats."
"Includes advanced tech protection."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"Most of the features that Zscaler has to offer, we will deploy."
"The solution offers good sandboxing."
"The product’s firewall and VPN package are fantastic compared to any other solution."
"I like the ease of deployment and its flexibility. We don't need to deal with license, quotes, procurement, delivery, and installation. Everything is software-based, and it's very easy to operate."
"It is a stable solution."
"The support structure needs to be improved because every time we contact them, there is a delay in the response."
"In the future, I would like to see improvements made to cloud-based management."
"The Web-filter in this solution is not very good."
"I think the only issue that needs improvement is the interface."
"It should provide better visibility over the network and more information in the form of reports for the end users. Its installation should also be easier."
"The inability to scale the FortiAnalyzer to match our growth necessitates the purchase of new hardware."
"The performance and speed are aspects of the solution that could always be improved upon."
"Fortinet FortiGate can improve by integrating the web application firewall and the DDoS protection part of the solution. Having a WAF feature, web application firewall, and proxy together would be a good benefit."
"Over the last six months, we have noticed that the hardware is slow, especially the VPN connections."
"SD-WAN would benefit from further improvement, particularly in terms of incorporating optimization techniques that are not typically found in traditional firewalls. Nowadays, WAN optimization features are being integrated into many firewalls, and implementing similar capabilities in SD-WAN would enhance its performance and functionality."
"I would like to next release to be able to support on-premise deployment. The construction of the rules within the firewall could also use some improvement."
"When you are using it as a controller for the wireless access points, it doesn't perform well. It is not suitable for the public cloud. It is more suitable for enterprise data. It is not really the equipment for cloud data centers. I am looking for a data center firewall."
"I would like to have a more efficient login process."
"It is performing well. However, the only challenges that we are facing are the effectiveness with blocking the proxy and tuneling applications, aside from proxy and similar applications. So the application filter on the product is not really performing 100%. Every now and then there are some updates that are happening on such applications, and it takes time until it gets the appropriate updates and becomes capable of capturing such applications and blocking them. A new feature I would really like to see would be some sort of an enhanced application filter with greater efficiency when it comes to the applications that can bypass firewall policies. These applications are really a nightmare. Once they are on the network and not detected, or the appliance is not really successful in capturing them and unblocking them, the bandwidth gets wasted all the time."
"The SD-WAN capability is not as good as it is in FortiGate, and is something that should be improved."
"It would be better if they made their own hardware like Palo Alto and Fortinet. They use their own ASICs and claim it is more secure."
"The product could improve its integration with some legacy systems."
"The issue right now is probably that Zscaler is not providing web browser isolation. Another solution, Menlo, offers this. For one customer, we had to send traffic to Menlo to do the isolation for us. It was requested by the customer so that they could integrate any iframe. Zscaler needs to add this type of feature in their next release."
"They do not provide a few components that are fundamental to differentiate the products"
"Its technical support services could be better."
"Certain criteria need to be met if you want to scale this solution."
"When it comes to customer support, there is room for improvement in Zscaler's service."
"It would be nice to have some sort of a form factor, a physical form factor perhaps, or virtual machine that you could install on devices or on a cloud, and have some cloud computing."
"Instead of the standard license, they should certainly provide customers with the visibility to access and view the logs."
