We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward.""We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats.""Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.""Fortinet FortiEDR made our clients feel secure and more at ease, knowing that they had an EDR solution that would close the gap in their security posture.""Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers.""The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls.""Impressive detection capabilities"

"CrowdStrike Falcon is a very light solution. It does not use too much processor or RAM.""The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon is its accuracy.""I like the dashboard nature of it. Everything is clickable, linkable, and information is easy to obtain and find. How it presents that information is probably the biggest win as far as the information correlation aspect. The presentation of it is very good.""The EDR and XDR features have been most valuable.""All the features are beneficial.""Cyberattack detection is very good. We use it for detecting different vulnerabilities, such as ransomware, virus, and malware. It is a good product today when compared to Symantec that we used previously.""CrowdStrike Falcon's scalability is good. We have thousands of students using this solution.""Probably the most valuable thing to me is the real-time response piece. The fact that I can connect to an endpoint as long as it is on the Internet, no matter where it is globally. I can remove files from the endpoint, drop files on the endpoint, stop processes, reboot it, run custom scripts, and deploy software. Pretty much no other tool can do all that."

"There is a layer of security to prevent a malicious agent (malware) from interrupting or stopping services, deleting or modifying registry entries or even stopping the antivirus from acting, ensuring that there will be no interruption of protection.""We use the product for detecting network vulnerabilities and for software update purposes.""On the cloud management page, the solution scales up very highly.""F-Secure is useful for keeping user machines up-to-date by pushing out security and critical updates.""The notifications and patch management features are valuable.""Both incoming and outgoing traffic is protected.""The most valuable features of WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection are the clear useful portal and overall company protection."

Cons
"FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things.""The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection.""The solution is not user-friendly.""Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office.""I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers.""We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments.""To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced.""Detections could be improved."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"In terms of features, I would like them to add detailed logging functionality in CrowdStrike. Currently, CrowdStrike detects the threats immediately based on the IOCs and the signature-based policies or many threat behaviors, but in terms of logging those threats, it is not very good. The information that they provide in the logs is very little. They can build more analytics into it.""As the company has grown, the technical support has felt less personal.""We can do a threat analysis of any machine at any time, but that threat analysis is very limited.""They don't really have anything when it comes to scanning attachments.""Too many false positives.""CrowdStrike Falcon sometimes wrongly flags things as malicious. Let's say a user is active on Chrome only. Sometimes, our cross-segmenting will fetch from the backend data and show that it is malicious because of memory or CPU utilization.""I would like them to improve the correlation of data in the search algorithms. When we run an investigation, malware, phishing, etc., I want to look at multiple endpoints at once to correlate that data to see the likenesses, e.g., how are they not alike or what systems and processes are running across those systems? I don't want to have to run the same search in their Spotlight module five, 10, 15, or 100 times to get 100 different results, copy that data out, and then correlate it on my own. In a very simple way, I want to be able to load up a comma-delimited list giving me the spotlight data on these X amount of hosts, letting me search for it quickly. We have had to go back to CrowdStrike, and say, "Our search are taking far too long for even one host." They did bump up the cores and that did improve performance, but it is still kind of slow to get that Spotlight data. That is probably our biggest pain point. I think that needs some help. I understand this kind of information access is probably not the easiest thing to do. It is probably a big ask depending on how their back-end is setup.""CS Falcon sensing capabilities for non-domain machines should be enhanced since the agent doesn't detect the neighbor's IP Address and/or any anomaly which was identified in the network for the non-domain machine."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Cons →

"The solution could improve by having more real-time responses. For example, when a license gets removed from a computer it does not update the records of the change. Additionally, when I installed Microsoft Windows Defender I was not able to send licenses through email to our tenants. The integration with other solutions could improve.""The program and cloud service management is in English. It's not a problem for me, however, it might be for users who don't speak English or use it regularly.""Resource consumption is suboptimal and could be improved.""There is no technical support available in the Middle East.""There could be a dedicated security partner with essential knowledge.""But the biggest one for us is patch management because this has been our top priority when looking at alternatives. Every solution needs to have patch management, if that's possible. It would cut costs on our side if that feature were included, so we don't need to pay for two separate pieces of software.""I would like the part of Hash Analysis by external sources to be improved."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
