Integrates seamlessly with multiple monitoring, automation, and service management tools
Pros and Cons
  • "Moogsoft AIOps integrates seamlessly with 50-plus IT monitoring, automation, service management, notification, and collaboration tools. It also provides a great and easy-to-use interface for observing."
  • "Some additional API interfacing would be great to enable getting the data out of AIOps programmatically."

What is our primary use case?

Our clients required much-needed improvement in the detection and remediation of incidents, ensuring continuous service delivery, so they opted for Moogsoft AIOps.

How has it helped my organization?

One of the tangible benefits of Moogsoft AIOps is that it has reduced alert volume by 90 percent. It separates the "signal" from the "noise" through mathematical analysis of all events across the entire monitoring stack. The result is that it frees up support a lot, saving resources, time, and money.

What is most valuable?

Moogsoft AIOps integrates seamlessly with 50-plus IT monitoring, automation, service management, notification, and collaboration tools. It also provides a great and easy-to-use interface for observing.

In terms of other products it works with in our environment, it integrates well with ServiceNow.

What needs improvement?

Some additional API interfacing would be great to enable getting the data out of AIOps programmatically.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's quite mature and stable and has easily borne the brunt of high-load intervals. We haven't faced any issues here.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

As it's in the cloud and hosted, scalability is not an issue at all. It grows and shrinks with our fluid environment.

How are customer service and support?

Customer service and support need improvement in terms of response time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's a very cost-effective and competitive product.

Our experience purchasing this solution through the AWS Marketplace was that it was very easy and seamless. We chose to procure this solution there because that's where it was available.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten, due to its integration features.

Automatic correlations, easy to install, stable, scalable, and the support is good
Pros and Cons
  • "I like the prediction features."
  • "I would like to see how Moogsoft integrates with the multi-cloud and brings out a single pane of glass, to see everything on one screen."

What is our primary use case?

I work with numerous products from old management framework products such as Tivoli to the latest products.

We are trying to migrate from Netcool/OMNIbus to Moogsoft for our customers.

What is most valuable?

I like the prediction features.

It's an automatic prediction of events, writing of the rules of analysis. With OMNIbus, you have to manually write the rules and make all of the correlations. It is my understanding that with Moogsoft, the correlations are done automatically.

What needs improvement?

With the multi-cloud and hybrid clouds coming into place, and where managed services are coming into existence. I would like to see how Moogsoft integrates with the multi-cloud and brings out a single pane of glass, to see everything on one screen.

As previously mentioned, I would like to see a single pane console addressing the different sets of environmental technologies. How do we integrate the process? We need a single pane of glass where we can manage all of the integrated applications.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Moogsoft for almost one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It can be scaled out better than OMNIbus

How are customer service and technical support?

We had demos and presentations from the Moogsoft team directly. It was pretty good.

We haven't rolled out the product yet, so I am not sure how the production support will be.

For the sales team and the architecture team who are driving this new tool, they provide customer service.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also just Loom with Moogsoft, we combine the two.

We also use Netcool/OMNIbus but migrating away from it. It's a good tool but it's an old product that has not improved with time. It is still stuck in time with the days of a coder selecting all of the events and manually writing all of the rules. It is becoming difficult for the users.

Where automation is becoming more used and known, we are still relying on tools where we need administrators who have to learn the rules of Netcool/OMNIbus, write them down, and put them into practice.

The administration cost becomes too high when it comes to Netcool/OMNIbus. We want to reduce administration, vendor cost, and bring it out of a managed services concept, where no one can directly enter the data into Moogsoft and get the output.

How was the initial setup?

I was not involved in the installation, but from what I understood from my implementers and my support team, it is easier than Netcool/OMNIbus to implement.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I was not involved with the pricing.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have been evaluating Loom and Moogsoft to see what the difference is between these two tools and whether you can consolidate them into one tool. It's been a long journey. Many things have changed, and it's been quite interesting to go through every phase of the technology that I have learned.

We are also evaluating Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus and possibly moving to AIOps.

What other advice do I have?

Dreemzrock Ventures is my startup company. Basically, we deal with developing mobile applications, and one of our products is a social media platform. We have approximately 18,000 users.

Dreemzrock is the place where we keep looking at new technologies and try to bring revenue from different areas, and we are also trying to enter the IT operations managed services space as well.

I would rate Moogsoft an eight out of ten.

Helpful with correlating IP failures and it has a very good flow chart of IP systems
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is extremely helpful with correlating IP failures and it has a very good sort of flow chart of IP systems. For example, if you see a failure in system A, you can track it down to the system causing the issue. This is a very handy feature."
  • "I would like to see more integrations. It is rather difficult to install the enterprise systems with the agents."

What is most valuable?

The solution is extremely helpful with correlating IP failures and it has a very good sort of flow chart of IP systems. For example, if you see a failure in system A, you can track it down to the system causing the issue. This is a very handy feature.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see more integrations. It is rather difficult to install the enterprise systems with the agents.

For how long have I used the solution?

We don't use the solution ourselves, but we have clients that have been using it for the past two years at least. We help with the implementation, installation, configured and so on.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We've had no issues with the scalability.

How are customer service and technical support?

The major advantage is that you've got solid context during collaboration and knowledge capture. The tool itself has very smart workflows for faster runtimes. It allows you to collaborate freely across a team, with development, IT and DevOps. The technical support is good.

How was the initial setup?

We set it up in an organization that has over 50,000 servers, so it was definitely a complex setup. It was, however, because of the number of nodes that we weren't monitoring. So the setup is not complicated in itself, but if you are going to monitor enterprise IP systems you end up monitoring tens of thousands of data points and that makes it complex.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this program to others. I would certainly tell them to give it a shot. In the next version I would like to see better agents and better integration points. My rating for this solution will be eight out of ten. It is a very agile tool that allows you to collaborate across teams. That's something that I always recommend.
