Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The drag and drop functionality is quite good.""The most valuable features are workflow and process automation.""The product provides end-to-end solutions for different business problems.""The pricing of the solution is quite good.""Kofax RPA's best feature is its high success percentage in picking up information from documents, especially where the DPI is really low.""The product saves time and resources.""The features that we have found the most valuable are the integration of different third-party support and productivity services.""The ability to script information from websites is most valuable. It also seems to be fairly robust and reasonably easy to manage on a server-based deployment. We have a number of robots operating on the central server."

"The initial implementation was pretty straightforward.""I can easily get support from the UiPath forum and through the mail.""Our stability is great. You rarely have any downtime, once you build it.""There is no coding at all required to implement a complex business process. If you have some programming background, it will help you. However, if you are a business user, you can still develop simple processes.""The most valuable feature of UiPath is the ability to consume APIs directly from any application.""The product is well-integrated with different tools that can help with logging, et cetera.""In UiPath, REFramework is useful for different use cases with predefined code templates. There are well-established steps. There is a step for code marginalization. Similarly, there are separate steps for initialization and processing. For closing an application process, a step is there. So, it is very well modularized for getting the transaction data. If there is one exception or anything wrong happens with an application, it will log the exception in the orchestrator and send an email. It can also close your applications and end data processing. So, everything is well organized and separated, and we can log the exceptions separately in the queues as business exceptions or application exceptions. We can have the complete report of a particular queue.""I like the structure of the selectors. They're robust. With other software like Automation Anywhere, we always have problems with recorders, plugins, et cetera. UiPath is more powerful and efficient. UiPath Studio has features like the Excel package, selectors, and recorders."

Cons
"There is really nothing special about the capabilities of this product.""The product should improve desktop automation, which is hard to configure. It needs to have custom connectors. It is the only advantage that Microsoft Power Platform has over Kofax RPA. It has more than 800 custom connectors.""RPA technology is constantly changing, and sometimes Kofax lags behind.""This product has room for improvement in support of aviation. The interface could be improved in the next release.""I would like to see them further enhance the OCR, specifically in the multi-language support.""Kofax RPA's UI could be more user-friendly.""We are on version 10.6, and the current version seems to be 11. Kofax is cycling the capabilities of the product very quickly. One of the difficulties has been to actually keep up with the capabilities as they've evolved. On the one hand, it is good that the product is getting better, but on the other hand, it is difficult to implement the best way with a product that is evolving constantly.""The solution could use some AI integrated features."

More Tungsten RPA Cons →

"It could be improved with tutorials or documentation-wise. Some of the features of the artificial intelligence or Orchestrator have been a little confusing for me. So, I would like an easy YouTube video tutorial or quick demo call. It would be much better for every user if they could introduce that.""Since we've been with them, they've changed their licensing structure. It would be nice to have one set structure where they're not changing the structure on us because we were set with what we had, but now we are changing. I understand there's a lot of changes and reasons for it.""UiPath should also add activities for the Excel application like formatting Excel columns and rows.""It would be beneficial to have the capability to track defects during the regression testing of applications.""They need to keep fixing the bugs and improving the tool. For example, if an Excel file is running and I'm doing an automation on that Excel file, it doesn't complete. There are some bugs, and fixes and improvements are required.""If a bot is going to save four to six onshore resources, at least one offshore resource is needed to support it... A lot of bots are highly sensitive. Even the slightest change in screen behavior or a small change in the process and, many times, they are not intelligent enough to run on their own. That means there is a high dependence on the support team. Automation software providers need to improve on this.""The pricing could be more transparent. Overall, I think the pricing is fine, but they keep changing it. It should be more structured. They don't have to tell us what their pricing is, but they should publish how the product is broken down.""Improving financial and recording operations through the use of charts would be advantageous."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The normal price for an on-premises license is €50,000. That's the price for one robot license. You can have more than one robot license but only one can be run at any one time. I believe the cost of adding a second robot is around €14,000."
  • "Price is not a problem, because they are a competitor and we have a special rate."
  • "I don't have complete insight at this point in time, but I would guess that Kofax is a lot less expensive than Automation Anywhere. I would expect its license to be on a yearly basis."
  • "Its pricing is reasonable given the product capabilities. Kofax has a wide range of products, and it can sometimes be confusing to understand which capabilities come with which product set. One of the key facets that we've been looking into recently is cognitive document recognition that was a core pile of some of their other technologies such as Kofax transformation modules (KTM)."
  • "Kofax's prices are pretty reasonable."
  • "There is a standard license needed to use Kofax RPA and the price is reasonable."
  • "Kofax RPA is moderately priced but expensive in comparison to UiPath and Power Automate."
  • "I give the price of the solution a six out of ten."
  • More Tungsten RPA Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It costs much less and it does much more than the competitors' solutions."
  • "The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
  • "If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
